Having worked on projects with 2K games in the past Jetty was very excited when they were asked to work on show site to create content for them again at E3 2010. When Creative Technology first came to them with the specs for the LED header of the booth Jetty’s first thoughts of the 256 foot by 12 foot display were that it would not be able to be mapped to a standard HD signal.

The LED panels being used were low res, but the pixel map for the whole display was still 2256 pixels by 96 pixels which meant the content could not be fed to the screens as one HD stream. After working with the techs at CT and some creative pixel mapping the guys at Jetty were able to ultimately stream the content to the displays in the most efficient way possible.

Although the capabilities were there to make some amazing, dynamic content that seamlessly wrapped around the entire booth the client ultimately chose to keep the look pretty simple and consistent with their brand.

The following picture really doesn’t show the immensity of the screen compared to actually being there. The display definitely proved it’s purpose as a beacon of red light drawing the attendees to come to the booth. Check out the 2K games blog here to get a better idea of the scope of everything.
